TAMKO MetalWorks Product Details

TAMKO MetalWorks Steel Shingles, specifically, are crafted using G 90 steel and coated with a robust Fluropon coil system to enhance their strength and resilience. The ingenious four-way locking system simplifies the installation process, making it easier and more efficient. Additionally, these metal shingles are versatile, suitable for both reroofing projects and installation over existing up to 2-layer asphalt shingle systems.

  • These metal shingles can be applied to roof decking with inclines of 3 inches per foot and greater, including sidewall and mansard applications. For slopes between 3 and 4 inches per foot, TW Tile and Metal Underlayment or TW Underlayment must be used over the entire deck surface.
  • The shingle material is constructed with 28-gauge nominal thickness of 0.0162 inches (0.066802 cm), featuring G-90 galvanizing and paint coatings. The exterior finish boasts Fluropon Primed Coatings with a dry film thickness of 1 mil, while the interior finish includes a wash coat with primer at a dry film thickness of 0.6 mil.
  • The shingle size measures 12-⅝ inches in width and 39-¾ inches in length, with an exposure of 12 inches. Each box of metal shingles covers an area of 49.2 square feet and contains 15 shingles.
  • The clips used for installation have a size of 1-¼ inches in width, 2-⅛ inches in length, and ⅕ inch in depth. They are made of G-90 galvanized steel, and the clip material thickness is 0.015 inches.
  • The shingles are coated with a Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 finish using the Fluropon Coil Coating System, which contains 70% polyvinylidene fluoride.
  • Keep in mind that certain building code restrictions may apply when using these metal shingles.
