Project Update: Portillo’s Restaurant at Grandscape

Chicago’s iconic restaurant chain Portillo’s is headed to North Texas. The Italian beef sandwich company is going to begin their Texas expansion with a brick-and-mortar location at Grandscape in The Colony. Dick Portillo’s restaurant started in 1963 as a Chicago-style hot dog stand. And for 42 years, it was mostly a Chicago thing, until the company ventured outside of Illinois at then end of 2005. Since then Portillo’s Restaurants are in nine states and soon to be ten.

Portillo’s – Grandscape will be the flagship restaurant for their expansion into Texas. Alpine Sheet Metal Systems and Alpine Roofing & Construction has been involved in with the Grandscape location since its inception. Alpine is likely to be involved in all four of Portillo’s Texas locations going into: Allen, Arlington, and Fort Worth. The new flagship restaurant completion is set for January 1, 2023 and will be located at: 4560 Destination Dr, The Colony, TX 75056.
